235 Road Trail – Overgaard, Arizona

One of the most enjoyable times is when you are on your Arizona vacation hiking in the White Mountains area near Overgaard on the 235 Road Trail. The quite, the moderate difficulty and the chance to see deer and elk make this a wonderful time. You can get in shape while spending some time in near isolation in the tall pines and oak and aspen trees.

Regardless of the time of year you take the hike, spring, summer or fall, you will find the beauty of the hike continually being peaceful. You can take the trail to the edge of Chevelon Canyon and give you a view that will stay with you for years to come.

There is no overnight camping within a 1/4 mile of Willow Springs Lake. There are other areas available for camping along this 4 mile trail but be sure to check with the Rangers office in Overgaard before picking your spot. Also, during dry season you are going to have to be very careful with any type of fire, the area is filled with beautiful trees that we don’t want to have burn and it doesn’t take much to set the dry needles and leaves off.
